Tigermilk Lands in London: Latin Soul, French Swagger, and a Menu That Packs a Punch

London’s dining scene has a new rebel in its midst – and it’s got mezcal on its breath. Parisian restaurant group Tigermilk (founded by Nina and Alexis Melikov), the brand that’s reimagined Latin American dining across France, has opened its first UK outpost on Charing Cross Road, flinging open the doors in June. With a 138-cover space, a menu that reads like a love letter to Latin America’s markets and coastlines, and cocktails designed to start (and end) the night with a bang, Tigermilk isn’t just another Soho opening. It’s here to shake things up…
Sunshine, Spice, and No Restraint
The menu is as vibrant as the soundtrack, a feast of bold flavours that crisscross Mexico, Peru, and beyond without feeling bound by tradition. If you only order one dish, make it the chipotle and agave-marinated T-bone steak. Bathed for 12 hours before it hits the grill, its smoky sweetness is lifted with a fiery kick. Then there are the cochinita pibil tacos, slow-cooked to a tender richness that’s practically addictive, and the dorade ceviche, an unexpected stunner studded with strawberries for a burst of sharp-sweet freshness.
Sharing is encouraged – or rather, irresistible – with rocoto-glazed lamb shoulder that arrives as a centrepiece, sticky, fiery, and falling apart at the mere suggestion of a fork. Even the guacamole isn’t just a dip; it’s an event, mixed and seasoned tableside in a ritual that feels as much performance as preparation.
Desserts are unapologetically indulgent: the maracuyá tiramisu, with four layers of passionfruit cream and sponge, could comfortably feed two (but you won’t want to share). And the dulce de leche cheesecake? Consider it an edible mic drop.
Agave Dreams and Dangerous Margaritas
Tigermilk’s drinks list is no mere sideshow – it’s a headline act. The bar, with 250+ bottles of tequila and mezcal, is the heart of the space, glowing like a shrine to agave. Cocktails are as playful as they are potent. The Hibiscus Margarita is floral and tangy, the mezcal mule smoky with just enough ginger bite, and the Tigermilk Spritz, kissed with yuzu and pink grapefruit, is dangerously refreshing.
The wine list is sharp, spotlighting boutique producers from France and South America – because, of course, the French know how to drink with flair.
Cuernavaca Glam Meets Soho Edge
Step inside, and it’s clear Tigermilk is as much about atmosphere as it is about the plate. Designed by Studio Leche in collaboration with Christie Ward (of Soho House fame), the two-level space is a riot of old-world glamour and tropical exuberance. White-and-red marble floors, mirrored ceilings, and cascades of lush greenery set the scene, while the open kitchen crackles with energy, drawing you into the brigade’s rhythm.
The design riffs on the faded grandeur of Cuernavaca’s old estates; think mirrored halls, marble courtyards, and an air of hedonism. And the location? 127 Charing Cross Road – smack in the beating heart of London, perfectly placed for pre-theatre tacos or late-night tiramisu.
Tidal Wave
Tigermilk is a restaurant that invites you to order big, drink hard, and linger long after the plates are cleared. The food is vibrant, the cocktails have a mischievous edge, and the prices are, frankly, far kinder than you’d expect for somewhere with this much swagger.
In short: Tigermilk isn’t just crossing the Channel, it’s bringing a tidal wave of Latin fire, Parisian cool, and London-ready attitude.
